History

Our first company was established in 1992 as Özbey Jewellery, in the world's oldest and most traditional gold and foreign exchange market, the Grand Bazaar. Özbey Jewellery marked the first step of business life in offering various types of jewellery and pure gold. The company continued to expand its businesses and opened a second branch in a very short time.

As we fostered an environment of constant improvement with new activity fields, Venus Exchange and Gold joined the group to serve banks, financial institutions and companies in physical currency exchange and gold trading activities. Today Venus Exchange and Gold maintains its position as an industry leader with its business volume.

Özbey Precious Metals was founded in 2009 to provide wholesale trade of bar gold, scraps, jewellery, silver, bronze, platinum, and brokerage services for refining and producing precious metals with BIST partnership. We executed the corporate transition process in this era to become the leading financial organisation in the industry.

In 2010, the company achieved a significant landmark as it introduced the Özbey Physical Trade Monitor Platform, the first digital platform in the market that digitises the Grand Bazaar gold market prices for physical transactions. This innovative platform opened a new path for market participants and has been actively serving our clients by adding new developments with its robust software architecture.

This digital platform, designed exclusively for professional clients, supports our solution partners and customers to participate in real-time physical transactions in gold and foreign exchange since 2010.

Özbey Gold was launched in 2013 to broaden the scope of our activities with extensive gold trading services in higher volumes.

We launched Venbey Investment Securities in 2014 to serve in Capital Markets. Our company delivers a wide range of financial products under the authorization of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey by holding the 'Portfolio Brokerage Activities Authorization Certificate' and the 'Trading Brokerage Activities Authorization Certificate with a paid-up capital of 100,000,000 TL.

Özbey Precious Metals and Refinery was established in 2015 to meet the industry's growing demands. We are processing an annual production and refining capacity of +500 tons of gold and silver, supported by a modern machinery park in international standards. Our modern refinery empowers us to contribute further to our robust wholesale gold trading with LBMA members. We are also proud to provide comprehensive and dedicated services to the industry with our high-volume exports and imports.
